First Church in Clarion County PDF Print E-mail

The following information was prepared by this site's Webmistress from various sources.

The first church in Clarion County was a Presbyterian congregation, organized in 1802 in Monroe Township.  The first church north of the Clarion River was a German Reformed congregation that met on the site of the present [1964] Stone Church near the Jefferson County border.  This building was also used by Lutheran worshippers in the area. Henry Koch, a circuit rider, was the first Reformed church pastor at that location.  He also served Rimersburg and vicinity.
